Are you going to be one of the over 4 million people that get a speeding ticket this year? That’s right; over 100,000 people get a speeding ticket every single day, and that is in the US alone! Although sadly the vast majority of these people are not placing anyone in risk.Interested readers can find more information about them at great post to read.

So why are so many people getting these speeding tickets? It’s easy … MONEY!

In fact for a lot of small counties in the US the majority of their yearly revenue comes from the fines collected from issuing speeding tickets. And if that was not bad enough, insurance companies are in on the game as well. In reality certain insurance companies have actually handed out radar guns to different jurisdictions in order for them to find more people just like you. They do this so that they can increase their rates and make more money.

So if you want to avoid getting a speeding ticket and save yourself hundreds of dollars in tickets and possibly thousands of increased insurance rates you will want to keep reading.

First off let me tell you why I feel qualified to even be writing this. I currently commute over 130 miles everyday to and from work and on average I travel 10 mph or more above the speed limit whenever possible. I have been doing this drive for the last 10 years, and have not received a single speeding ticket.

The below are the methods that I use to avoid getting caught.

  1. Keep Your Eyes Peeled.

The first way to avoid getting a speeding ticket is to keep your eyes open and always keep an eye on everything around. You should already do this, but you’d be surprised at how many people have never seen the police officer sitting on the side of the road that gave them their speeding ticket.

Now, there are a couple of things to keep an eye out for. Look in front for brake lights first. Most people will hit their brakes when they see a cop, even if they aren’t speeding. But to make this effective you will have to be looking well ahead so that you can slow down before he can nail you with his radar.

Second, keep an eye on medium strips, over passes, hills, basically anywhere a cop can hide you should be aware of. I have seen cops on overpasses with a radar gun getting people as they go under, so be careful.

  1. Get A Blocker.

The second way to avoid getting a speeding ticket is to get a good blocker. What I say by this is to search at certain cars that travel the same pace or faster than you and stop behind you.

Do not get right on their bumper, get a fair distance behind them so that they can be noticed by the police officer before you get into the picture. Often make careful to check for the car’s brake lights you are trailing to keep you ahead of an driver.

  1. Look at Your pace.

Tracking the pace is the last way to avoid getting a speeding ticket.
